1. Choose the Right Texture: Textured rollers are available in a variety of textures, from light to heavy. Consider the surface you're painting and the effect you're after to choose the right texture type.

2. Load the Roller Evenly: Dip the roller in paint and roll it against the tray or screen to evenly distribute the paint onto the roller. Ensure that both ends of the roller have equal amounts of paint to obtain even coverage.

3. Apply Paint in a W Pattern: Using a W pattern uniformly distributes the paint and creates a consistent texture. Start at the top of the wall and work your way down in sections, overlapping each previous section to avoid visible seams.

5. Don't Overwork the Paint: Overworking the paint can cause it to thin, creating an uneven texture. To avoid this, use a light touch and don't go over the same area many times. Once you've achieved the desired texture, move on.
